Strategies for Finding Top Holiday Sales at Walmart

With today’s economy the way it is, many are dreading the holidays or at least the holiday shopping season. If you are trying to shop on a tighter than usual budget this year, you will be pleasantly surprised to discover how much farther your holiday dollars will go with some careful planning and smart shopping.  Two of the most successful strategies for finding the top holiday sales are to shop early and shop late.
At the beginning of the season many retailers offer nearly unheard of deals to kick-start the shopping season. If you are shopping offline, the best time for early sales is Thanksgiving Day (they start a little earlier each year), and the following Friday, known as Black Fridayî. If you are shopping online the Monday following Thanksgiving, known as Cyber Monday, usually brings the top holiday sales early in the year. Watch for discounts half off or better, but snag them early or they won’t last. Although you will find a mind-boggling number of sales, many lasting for several days or a week the best ones usually last only a few hours or at least the best deals are sold out in a few hours.  No matter when you plan to do your shopping, Walmart has emerged as a must stop for Black Friday and especially, Walmart Cyber Monday deals.
What’s left of your shopping list after the initial barrage of sales will do better if you can wait until the last minute. Remember, the selection for these end of season sales is limited so you need to be flexible.  If you can manage to wait, you can usually find the best of the top holiday sales in the last moments of the holiday shopping season. When retailers have nearly given up hope of selling their remaining stock they will mark down prices drastically. Of course, there are often even better sales just after Christmas when they are just clearing out excess inventory with no hope of selling it at holiday prices. These sales are a bit to late for giving gifts on time but belated gift giving can prove much less expensive!
